Some of the biggest names in the crypto industry and leaders from two major US regulatory bodies are set to meet at the White House next week for a high-profile gathering as Washington attempts to establish a comprehensive digital asset framework.
The meeting, scheduled for August 19, will bring together representatives from leading crypto companies such as Ripple, Coinbase, Chainlink, Paradigm, and Kalshi. Tech investment firm a16z is also expected to send an observer. Notably, Senators who failed to resolve the CLARITY Act during the Senate’s recent recess are now attending this White House event.
The meeting is part of Washington’s ongoing efforts to draft a federal framework for cryptocurrencies following legislative setbacks in the Senate earlier this month. One contentious issue under examination at the gathering involves whether digital asset companies should be allowed to reward customers with rewards on their stablecoin holdings, highlighting potential regulatory hurdles yet to be addressed.
Despite these uncertainties, the meeting underscores the significant role Washington is playing in shaping the future of cryptocurrencies and digital assets in the United States.
