Galaxy Research Warns of New Wave of Coldcard Bitcoin Theft Attacks

Hundreds of transactions have impacted 709 potential victim addresses, moving 448.7 Bitcoin since Thursday, according to Galaxy research head Alex Thorn. Activity averages 13.8 sweeps per block, around 45 times the pre-incident rate.

Some funds have already been swept into second-hop addresses. Some affected users may be able to move their funds by broadcasting a conflicting transaction with higher fees before the attacker’s transaction is confirmed, according to Thorn.
