Cloudflare, a US cloud infrastructure company, has launched Cloudflare Wallets designed to simplify how artificial intelligence (AI) agents identify themselves and pay for APIs and digital content through stablecoin micropayments. The product integrates with the company’s Monetization Gateway, which uses Coinbase’s x402 protocol.
Users can claim their Cloudflare Wallet handle at cloudflare.pay. Onramping and offramping funds, as well as issuing virtual wallets, will launch in supported geographies initially. Self-funding is available for eligible users outside those markets.
A spokesperson from Cloudflare stated, “Handle reservation is live now at cloudflare.pay where users can claim their identity. Full wallet functionality like onramping and offramping funds, and issuing virtual wallets will roll out in the coming months.”
Will Papper, a Cloudflare software engineer, added, “Stablecoin micropayments via x402 will make it simple to try an API without an account, allowing agents to test new options with little friction. The wallets will also let users store stablecoins and receive payments across the web.”
