Bitcoin Slips Below $65,000

#### Standfirst

Bitcoin dropped below $65,000 on Tuesday after four consecutive attempts to surpass the mark failed. Major altcoins such as XRP and BNB saw sharp declines in value, while Ethereum maintained its gains from a week-long period.

Bitcoin has been testing $65,000 for four straight days without any surge in buying as it approaches what some view as a psychological round number. This lack of buying pressure, coupled with no significant selling into the area, suggests traders are likely holding onto their positions rather than taking profits. Chief Market Analyst Alex Kuptsikevich from FxPro noted that “the absence of buying and selling activity in this region could indicate a build-up of short positions well above $65,000.”

In contrast to Bitcoin’s downward trend, Ethereum recorded minor gains over the week, dropping just over 2% to $1,878. However, major altcoins such as XRP and BNB experienced significant declines. XRP fell nearly 2% to $1.01, marking a decline of almost 6% in a single week. Solana, on the other hand, saw gains with its price easing slightly under 1%, reaching $76.

BNB, which had been dropping to $600, showed a modest 2% weekly increase. These varied performances highlight the volatility and segmented nature of cryptocurrencies’ markets, where different assets can move independently from one another.
