US-listed spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs) recorded $3.52 billion in net inflows in August 2026, their highest monthly total of the year, as Bitcoin surged 25% for the month. The inflows marked a sharp rebound from $172 million in July 2026, reflecting renewed investor confidence in the asset class.
The 25% monthly rise in Bitcoin’s price was its strongest performance since November 2024, when the cryptocurrency rallied 37.29%. Year-to-date net outflows for Bitcoin ETFs fell by 66% in August 2026, shrinking to $1.77 billion, compared with larger outflows in earlier months.
Total net assets in Bitcoin ETFs rose 31% to $99.61 billion in August 2026, despite a shift in momentum. September 2026 began with $236.46 million in net outflows on September 6, 2026, accompanied by a decline in Bitcoin’s price.
Ether and XRP ETFs also showed positive trends, with year-to-date net inflows reaching $732 million and $502 million respectively as of August 2026. The largest monthly outflows for Bitcoin ETFs in 2026 occurred in June ($4.51 billion), May ($2.43 billion), and January ($1.61 billion).
