A summary of the cryptocurrency market based on Blockchain Bugle’s scheduled market snapshots.
Market Open: Bitcoin edges higher as Ethereum slips
Bitcoin rose slightly amid a mixed performance across major cryptocurrencies, with Ethereum retreating and TRON registering the largest gain, while Shiba Inu fell sharply.
Bitcoin advanced 0.38% to $64,282.60 during the reporting period, maintaining its position as the dominant asset by market capitalisation. The price movement followed a broadly flat session for most major coins, though Ethereum declined 0.47% to $1,897.84, extending its recent consolidation. TRON outperformed peers, rising 0.59% to $0.33, while Shiba Inu dropped 1.14% to $0.00, marking the steepest decline among major tokens.
XRP and Dogecoin remained largely unchanged, with XRP trading flat at $1.00 and Dogecoin holding at $0.07, despite a 0.60% dip in the latter. BNB fell 0.42% to $603.96, and Solana edged down 0.12% to $75.84. The divergence in performance between Bitcoin and Ethereum highlighted ongoing volatility in the sector, with Bitcoin’s modest gain contrasting against Ethereum’s retreat.
TRON’s rise, though modest, underscored continued activity in altcoins, while Shiba Inu’s sharp decline reflected heightened sensitivity in lower-cap assets. Market capitalisation for Bitcoin stood at $1.29 trillion, accounting for over 63% of the total crypto market, with Ethereum retaining 17.7% at $229 billion. Trading volumes remained subdued compared to prior sessions, with Bitcoin’s 24-hour volume at $21.6 billion and Ethereum’s at $7.27 billion.
The market’s fragmented performance suggested a continuation of selective momentum, with no clear overarching trend emerging across the broader ecosystem.
