The cryptocurrency market has experienced a sharp rebound, with Bitcoin surging over 23% this week to reach $77,559, marking its first crossing of the 200-day moving average since November 2025. Ethereum, Solana, and XRP also posted gains of 31.1%, 22.4%, and 53.3% respectively, while the total crypto market cap rose to $2.63 trillion. The rally followed a surge in ETF inflows, which reached $2.61 billion, and shifting investor sentiment amid evolving regulatory and macroeconomic developments.
The 200-day moving average crossover, highlighted by Barchart on Thursday, has been interpreted by analysts as a potential turning point for the market. Meanwhile, US debt policy and legislative progress on crypto regulation have drawn attention. The House of Representatives passed the CLARITY Act in July 2025, though its procedural vote on September 15 remains uncertain, with Democratic lawmakers indicating reluctance to advance the bill without concessions.
Ray Dalio, founder of Bridgewater Associates, suggested a 15% allocation to gold and Bitcoin in a recent interview, while Standard Chartered analyst Geoff Kendrick predicted Bitcoin could surpass $100,000. However, Bitget CEO Gracy Chen noted that macroeconomic conditions may keep prices near current levels. Regulatory developments also remain pivotal, with SEC Commissioner Hester Peirce outlining potential exemptions for ETFs and CFTC Chair Michael Selig outlining contingency plans if the CLARITY Act fails.
The market’s recovery has coincided with broader economic factors, including the US debt reaching $40 trillion. While ETF inflows and technical indicators have bolstered optimism, uncertainties persist around legislative outcomes and the long-term trajectory of Bitcoin’s price. Analysts and policymakers alike continue to monitor the interplay between regulatory frameworks and market dynamics as the crypto sector navigates its next phase.
