The Smarter Web Company has added 35 bitcoins to its treasury reserves, bringing its total holdings to 2,747 units under its long-term cryptocurrency strategy. The acquisition, valued at £2 million with an average price of £82,562 per bitcoin, follows an initial purchase of 2.3 BTC in April 2025. The firm reported cumulative bitcoin-related purchases of £235.5 million and sales of £8.7 million to date.
The UK-based company, which provides web design and digital marketing services, has drawn £20.5 million from its Coinbase Strategic Credit Facility, a financial product offering variable-rate loans secured against cryptocurrency holdings. This facility, utilised with a leverage ratio of 14.8%, currently carries an interest rate of 6 per cent.
The move reflects growing institutional interest in bitcoin as a reserve asset, with The Smarter Web Company’s strategy aligning with broader trends of firms diversifying treasury reserves into crypto. The firm has not disclosed specific use cases for the credit facility proceeds but has previously stated its intent to use bitcoin as a hedge against inflation and currency volatility.
Analysts note that the company’s approach mirrors that of other firms adopting hybrid models of holding and leveraging crypto assets. The Smarter Web Company’s transparency in reporting treasury activities has drawn attention from investors tracking corporate adoption of digital assets.
