Marex Group, a Nasdaq-listed financial services firm, has invested an undisclosed sum in Digital Prime Technologies, a provider of institutional crypto infrastructure. The funding is intended to advance Tokenet, a digital asset lending and borrowing platform jointly developed by Digital Prime and EquiLend.
Tokenet reportedly held $1 billion in lending inventory and $1 billion in borrowing demand from launch partners as of last week, according to Digital Prime. These figures reflect available assets and expressed interest from institutional participants, rather than completed transactions.
Galaxy Digital and Ripple Prime are among the launch partners of Tokenet, which aims to address liquidity challenges in the institutional crypto market. Marex’s investment underscores growing interest from traditional finance firms in expanding their digital assets offerings.
The partnership between Digital Prime and EquiLend highlights efforts to bridge gaps between institutional investors and crypto markets, with Tokenet positioned as a scalable solution for asset-backed lending. No further details on the investment’s size or future milestones have been disclosed.
