The Blockchain Bugle Market Briefing brought to you by Red Fox Capital takes a look at today’s trading session, as Bitcoin surges strongly, and with XRP leading the session amid a broadly positive session.
Market Close: XRP surges 8.2% as Bitcoin advances 2.5%
Bitcoin rose 2.5% to $71,320, while XRP surged 8.18% to $1.20, the most significant gain among major cryptocurrencies. Ethereum posted a modest 0.61% increase to $2,263.83, with all tracked assets ending higher.
Bitcoin’s price climbed to $71,320, reflecting a 2.53% gain during the reporting period. The world’s largest cryptocurrency by market capitalisation, now valued at $1.43 trillion, saw trading volume reach $69.8 billion over 24 hours. XRP’s performance outpaced all other major assets, with its price rising from $1.11 to $1.20, a move that lifted its market capitalisation to $74.99 billion.
Ethereum’s advance, though minimal, marked a slight recovery after a period of consolidation. The second-largest cryptocurrency by market cap rose to $2,263.83, with 24-hour trading volume of $40.7 billion. Dogecoin and Cardano also posted gains, rising 2.96% and 4.66% respectively, though their movements were smaller in scale compared to XRP.
BNB and Solana added 2.04% and 1.35% respectively, while TRON and Chainlink recorded smaller increases of 1.47% and 0.95%. Shiba Inu, despite a 1.43% rise, remained near its all-time low, trading at $0.00.
The market’s overall direction was shaped by XRP’s sharp rebound and Bitcoin’s steady ascent, with no major assets recording losses. Trading volumes across the sector remained robust, with Bitcoin’s 24-hour volume exceeding $69.8 billion and Ethereum’s surpassing $40.7 billion.
The performance of XRP, in particular, underscored renewed interest in altcoins, though the absence of significant volatility in Bitcoin and Ethereum suggested a more measured market environment. No other asset recorded a gain exceeding 5%, with the majority of movements clustered below 3%.
