The Blockchain Bugle Market Briefing brought to you by Red Fox Capital takes a look at today’s trading session, as Bitcoin surges strongly, and with XRP leading the session amid a broadly positive session.
Market Close: XRP surges 8.18% as Bitcoin and Ethereum rise modestly
XRP surged 8.18% during the reporting period, its largest single-day gain in recent weeks, while Bitcoin advanced 2.53% and Ethereum rose 0.61%. The rally in XRP outpaced broader market movements, with all major cryptocurrencies recording gains. Dogecoin and Cardano also posted notable increases of 2.96% and 4.66% respectively, though their performance remained below that of XRP.
Bitcoin’s price climbed to $71,320.49 from $69,558.84, driven by sustained demand in spot markets. Its market capitalisation reached $1.43 trillion, with 24-hour trading volume exceeding $69.8 billion. Ethereum, despite its smaller gain, maintained a stable price of $2,263.83, supported by ongoing adoption of decentralised finance applications. The asset’s market capitalisation stood at $273.2 billion, with trading volume of $40.7 billion over the same period.
XRP’s sharp increase to $1.20 from $1.11 marked a significant reversal from recent sideways consolidation. The token’s market capitalisation rose to $74.99 billion, though its 24-hour trading volume of $5.05 billion remained lower than Bitcoin and Ethereum. Dogecoin’s 2.96% gain to $0.08 reflected renewed interest in meme-based assets, while Cardano’s 4.66% jump to $0.19 highlighted continued momentum in the proof-of-stake sector.
Other major assets recorded smaller gains, with BNB up 2.04% to $639.00 and Solana rising 1.35% to $86.47. Trading volumes across the market remained robust, with Bitcoin and Ethereum accounting for the majority of activity. No cryptocurrencies recorded declines during the period, indicating broad-based optimism despite mixed macroeconomic signals.
