HashKey Exchange Secures JPMorgan Chase Approval for Client Money Account

HashKey Exchange, a Hong Kong-licensed cryptocurrency exchange, has secured approval from JPMorgan Chase to open a client money account, its parent company HashKey Holdings announced in a press release. The account will facilitate client fund segregation and settlement through JPMorgan’s infrastructure, marking a significant step in the firm’s efforts to integrate traditional banking systems with cryptocurrency operations. The development follows a merger in early July that consolidated HashKey Exchange and HashKey Global into a single trading portal, streamlining services for users.

HashKey Exchange also activated a customer funds account with Singapore’s DBS Bank on June 30, enabling fiat deposits, withdrawals, and settlement services. The move underscores the exchange’s expansion into regulated financial infrastructure, leveraging partnerships with major banks to enhance trust and compliance. DBS Group Holdings, parent company of DBS Bank, holds $697.77 billion in assets, according to S&P Global Market Intelligence’s April rankings, while JPMorgan was listed as the world’s fifth-largest bank with $4.4 trillion in assets in the same rankings.

HashKey Holdings raised $206 million in an oversubscribed initial public offering in December, reflecting strong investor confidence in its growth strategy. The firm’s recent financial arrangements with JPMorgan and DBS align with broader industry trends of crypto exchanges seeking institutional backing to bolster regulatory credibility and operational resilience.
