BitMine Immersion Technologies repurchased 1.7 million common shares in the week ending August 16, the smallest weekly buyback since its program began on July 1 and the third consecutive decline. The company’s Ethereum (ETH) treasury rose to 5,815,164 tokens, though total holdings fell to $11.4 billion from $11.6 billion a week earlier, reflecting a slight dip in cryptocurrency valuations.
Chairman Thomas Lee noted the ETH/BTC ratio had climbed to 0.02994, a development he described as “encouraging” for the company’s strategic positioning. The repurchase marks the 20.8 millionth share bought back under a $4 billion authorization, with 9,926 ETH added to the treasury over the period.
BitMine holds 210 Bitcoin (BTC) and maintains stakes in Beast Industries and Eightco Holdings (ORBS), which collectively hold $253 million in crypto assets. Cash and marketable securities stood at $78 million on August 16, with the company declaring 17 weekly cash dividends for its preferred shareholders.
The firm’s ETH holdings account for 4.8% of the 120.7 million ETH supply, a proportion that analysts may monitor for further signals on market sentiment. Total holdings, including “moonshot” investments, remain above $11 billion despite the recent decline.
