**BlackRock Expands Tokenized Cash Platform with New Money Market Products**

BlackRock has launched two tokenized money market products, including a share class on Ethereum for an existing fund and a stablecoin reserve vehicle designed to meet requirements under the GENIUS Act. The firm filed with the SEC in May and collaborated with Securitize for tokenization.

The new offerings aim to address growing demand for high-quality reserve assets in the stablecoin sector, where BlackRock currently manages $60 billion in reserves for Circle. This represents approximately a quarter of the $300 billion global stablecoin market.

BlackRock’s Cash Management Group, which oversees $1.073 trillion in cash strategies, said the products would provide clients with additional investment options. Jon Steel, Global Head of Product and Platform, highlighted the role of the funds in catering to evolving client needs.

The move follows the growth of the tokenized real-world asset market, which expanded 200% over the past year to $30 billion, according to rwa.xyz. BlackRock’s BUIDL fund, now valued at $2.5 billion, has also seen increased interest.

Larry Fink, BlackRock’s CEO, has previously advocated for tokenization technology, citing its potential to enhance liquidity and efficiency in financial markets. The firm’s expansion aligns with broader industry projections, including Citi’s estimate that tokenized securities could reach $5.5 trillion by 2030.

Martin Small, BlackRock’s CFO, noted during the Q2 2026 earnings call that the firm aims to be the “reserve manager of choice” as stablecoin demand continues to grow. The new products are part of a broader strategy to capitalise on the evolution of digital asset infrastructure.
