A summary of the cryptocurrency market based on Blockchain Bugle’s scheduled market snapshots.
Market Close: Bitcoin rises as Chainlink surges
Bitcoin advanced 0.83% to $64,040.21, extending its recent upward trend. Ethereum rose 0.43% to $1,906.89, though its movement was more modest. Chainlink outperformed the market with a 0.95% increase, while Cardano fell 1.31% to $0.17, marking its largest decline. Solana added 0.70%, and Dogecoin edged up 0.22%.
Bitcoin’s gain brought its market capitalisation to $1.285 trillion, maintaining its dominance as the largest cryptocurrency by value. Ethereum’s price remained near recent levels, with its 24-hour trading volume at $7.45 billion. Chainlink’s surge, driven by a 9.53% price rise, highlighted renewed interest in the decentralised oracle network.
Cardano’s 1.31% drop contrasted sharply with its peers, though its market capitalisation remained stable at $6.38 billion. TRON fell 0.78% to $0.33, while XRP and Dogecoin saw negligible changes, trading flat or near flat. Solana’s 0.70% gain reflected continued momentum in the high-speed blockchain platform.
The broader market showed mixed performance, with eight cryptocurrencies rising and two declining. Chainlink’s outperformance underscored its position as a key player in the sector, while Cardano’s decline pointed to sector-specific volatility. Bitcoin and Ethereum’s relatively restrained gains suggested cautious investor behaviour amid broader market conditions.
Trading volumes across major assets remained largely consistent with recent trends, with Bitcoin’s 24-hour volume reaching $18.1 billion. Solana’s trading activity rose to $1.41 billion, reflecting heightened participation in the asset. Dogecoin’s minimal movement highlighted its role as a low-volatility component of the market.
No major shifts in relative performance emerged, with Bitcoin and Ethereum retaining their positions as the two most liquid assets. The absence of extreme price swings across most coins indicated a period of consolidation rather than sharp directional movement.
