Bitcoin Tracks Equity Bounce Amid $390M ETF Outflows, Clarity Act Uncertainty

U.S. spot bitcoin exchange-traded funds experienced $390 million in net outflows over four days, marking their largest weekly withdrawal in six weeks, while Solana ETFs recorded robust inflows. Bitcoin prices rose 0.77% since midnight UTC, coinciding with a 0.5% surge in Nasdaq 100 index futures to a seven-week high.

The outflows contrasted with strong demand for Solana-related funds, though the broader crypto market remained volatile. Galaxy Digital’s Alex Thorn revised his estimate for the Clarity Act’s 2026 passage to 10%, citing ongoing legislative challenges. The act’s cloture vote is scheduled for Sept. 15, with uncertainty over its timeline persisting.

Market sentiment indicators showed mixed signals, with CoinMarketCap’s Fear and Greed index at 38/100, reflecting a “fear” reading, while the Altcoin Season index stood at 46/100. Bitcoin’s open interest reached $48 billion, double its 24-hour trading volume, and ZEC’s funding rate of +10% suggested sustained bullish positioning.

Altcoin activity remained fragmented, with Pump.fun rising 7.80% on Monday, while MORPHO, HYPE, and FET exhibited varied price movements. Analysts noted that ETF outflows may not immediately dictate Bitcoin’s trajectory, with macroeconomic factors and regulatory developments likely to remain pivotal.
