A summary of the cryptocurrency market based on Blockchain Bugle’s scheduled market snapshots.

Market Open: Bitcoin, Ethereum rise as Chainlink surges

Bitcoin and Ethereum advanced slightly during early trading, with Chainlink recording the largest single-asset gain, while Shiba Inu fell sharply.

Bitcoin rose 0.39% to $63,511.28, extending its recent consolidation above $63,000. Ethereum gained 0.66% to $1,898.78, maintaining its position as the second-largest cryptocurrency by market capitalisation. Chainlink, a leading decentralised oracle provider, surged 0.71% to $9.44, outpacing broader market movements. The asset’s performance contrasted with Shiba Inu, which dropped 1.38% to $0.00, marking its most significant decline among major tokens.

XRP, Dogecoin, and TRON posted modest gains of 0.13%, 0.24%, and 0.16% respectively, while BNB and Solana edged lower by 0.28% and 0.13%. The divergence in performance highlighted uneven momentum across the sector, with smaller-cap assets exhibiting greater volatility.

Bitcoin’s market capitalisation remained above $1.27 trillion, reflecting its continued dominance in the sector. Ethereum’s 24-hour trading volume rose to $5.19 billion, indicating sustained liquidity despite the asset’s relatively modest price increase. Chainlink’s market capitalisation stood at $7.06 billion, with trading activity reaching $241.56 million in the past 24 hours.

Shiba Inu’s decline, despite its negligible price change, underscored the challenges faced by meme-based tokens in maintaining traction amid broader market shifts. The asset’s market capitalisation remained below $2.61 billion, a fraction of Bitcoin’s and Ethereum’s valuations.

The broader market showed mixed signals, with no clear trend emerging across major assets. Investors appeared to focus on technical levels for Bitcoin and Ethereum, while smaller tokens remained subject to rapid swings.
